2009-2022

Williamsville Central School District selected as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation.

1999 to date

In the spring of 1999, Williamsville band directors Matthew S. Cool, Geoffrey Richter, Stephen Shewan and then district music coordinator Gary Stith, launched the Williamsville Commissioning Consortium. Some past Composer participants include, Dr. Samuel Adler, Augusta Reed Thomas and Lowell Libermann.

Williamsville consistently has high totals of music students selected to participate in National Honors Ensembles, All-Eastern Ensembles, New York Conference All-State ensembles and Erie County ensembles.

1986 to Date

Performing Ensembles from the Williamsville Central Schools have received special invitations to appear as model organizations at major music conventions locally, statewide and nationally including

1985

Music Educators National Conference (now called National Association for Music Education) established the "Exemplary Music Program Award" nation-wide with the plan to recognize four school districts annually for this honor. The Williamsville Central School Music Program was one of the first four!

The Williamsville Central School Music Program was the FIRST state-wide recipient of the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Presidential Citation for excellence in music education.
