The K-4 Infusion of Multiculturalism curriculum contains a listing of patriotic, cultural and religious holidays specifically designed for students in grades K-4.  This curriculum was written under the guidelines of the New York State Social Studies Learning Standards and outlines the basic understandings that are taught for each patriotic, cultural and religious holiday at the K-4 grade levels.  This curriculum is arranged to facilitate the teaching about holidays as they occur within the school calendar. Since the grade 4 curriculum is the first chronological study of New York State history, teachers reinforce the understandings of these patriotic, religious and cultural holidays as they occur naturally in the grade 4 social studies curriculum.
