Mill's Future City team wins special award

After winning the Future City regional title in January, Mill Middle School's seventh grade  Future City Team competed in the national competition, Feb. 19-21, where they were honored with The City of the Future that Best Incorporates Cultural & Historical Resources Award.

The Mill Middle Team tackled the water crisis in Flint, MI with their futuristic entry, Paradisville. They designed a better waste management system to address the water crisis while also focusing on education innovations, public space redevelopment, car-free transportation, and sustainable energy sources.  

The members of the Mill Middle Team are: Andrew Cohen, Maggie O’Neill, Jeff Evelt, Tarin Rietz, Ryan King, Lorenzo Price, Caroline Peter, Grant Bogner, and Owen Klimczak.  Randall Gammiero, Mill’s Gifted Programming Specialist, is the team’s Advisor and parent Ralph Rietz serves as Engineering Mentor.
