Dr. Daniel Walh named Principal of the Year by SAANYS

Transit Middle School Principal Dr. Daniel Walh has been named the 2021 New York State Secondary School Principal of the Year by the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS).

Walh has served as Principal since 2011 and was honored for “prioritizing time for teacher collaboration and learning; enhancing staff and student connections; understanding the importance of positive behavior supports and meeting individual student needs; and leading high-quality instruction and creating opportunities for all students.”

“It was a great honor to be nominated by my peers for this award and I am truly humbled to be selected for this award,” said Walh.  “It is only possible because I am surrounded by outstanding educators and leaders here in the Williamsville Central School District who are dedicated to doing great things for our students each day.”

“Dr. Walh is a truly outstanding principal,” added Acting Superintendent of Schools Dr. John McKenna.  “This award is well deserved and we all very proud of him.”

Under Dr. Walh’s leadership, Transit has continued to be one of the top performing schools in the Western New York area, earning a #1 ranking by Buffalo Business First.
