08-23-21 Update to Families and Staff Regarding ECDOH School Guidance
August 23, 2021
Dear Williamsville Central School District Families and Staff,
Earlier today, the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) shared guidance for schools operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. ECDOH’s guidance document is available on the District’s COVID-19 Education page: Guidance for PK-12 Schools 2021-2022
We will share additional details regarding instruction, health, and safety with you on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, as we continue to prepare to open our doors for full-time, in-person instruction in September. To that end, one important health and safety mitigation strategy the District will be following is ECDOH’s mask mandate. Masks are required for all individuals in all schools and District buildings, regardless of vaccination status, while indoors at all times. Masks are strongly recommended but not required to be worn when outdoors. This health and safety guidance requirement is effective today.
We look forward to welcoming our students, faculty, and staff back into our buildings and a strong start to the school year.
Stay safe and healthy!
Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
