01-05-22 Test To Stay Program Update to Families

January 5, 2022

Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,

Earlier today, school districts were scheduled to meet with the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) regarding the Test to Stay (TTS) program in Erie County.  However, this meeting was postponed by the county.  While we have not secured a new date with Erie County to meet and discuss TTS, we are hoping to be able to provide an update at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, January 11th at 7 p.m.

Prior to today, ECDOH provided some preliminary information regarding the program.  One of the items preliminarily shared was that in order to implement TTS, we are required to provide an implementation plan to the county for approval.  We are in the process of working on a plan, including resourcing additional staff, and will share details with families once the plan is approved.  It is also important to note that in order for students be eligible to participate in the TTS program, parents/guardians are required to consent.    We believe the TTS program can help maintain a healthy and safe educational environment, and preserve in-person learning.

Stay safe, healthy, and warm.

Sincerely,

Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
