02-08-22 COVID-19 At-Home Test Kit Distribution Update to Families
February 8, 2022
Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,
The District received a third shipment of COVID-19 at-home test kits from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to distribute to students. We will be distributing these tests ahead of the Mid-Winter Recess on Wednesday, February 16th. Currently, we have enough tests to provide two (2) test kits per student.
Beginning Wednesday, February 9th, parents/guardians will be able to request COVID-19 at-home test kits through WITS. This survey will close on Monday, February 14th at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Tests will be sent home with child(ren) on Wednesday, February 16th.
Please note: If parents/guardians do not request a test to be placed in a backpack for delivery by the time the survey closes on February 14th at 12:00 p.m. (noon), parents/guardians will have the option to come to the District Office (105 Casey Road) to pick up COVID-19 at-home test kits on February 16, 17, or 18.
This testing is not required but being made available to students. We believe providing this testing is another mitigation practice that will help maintain an educational environment that is healthy and safe.
It is also important to note the District is not recording or reporting at-home test results. However, if your child(ren) receives a positive result from the COVID-19 at home test, please report it to the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) at the following link: https://www3.erie.gov/covid/form/form-to-report-a-positive-covid-.
If your child(ren) tests positive for COVID-19, please keep them home, notify their building of attendance, and follow all of the appropriate return to school criteria prior to sending them back to school.
We hope you enjoy the Mid-Winter Recess.
Sincerely,
Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
