03-11-22 At-Home Test Kit Clarification for Return to School & Upcoming Distribution

March 11, 2022

Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,

The Distirct received clarification regarding COVID-19 at-home test kits and return to school protocol from the Erie County Department of Health.  Negative results on COVID-19 at-home test kits are now acceptable for return to school protocol.  Parents/guardians can e-mail their child’s building of attendance indicating their child received a negative result through the COVID-19 at-home test kit.  If you have any questions, please contact your building nurse.

With that, I want to remind families about the upcoming COVID-19 at-home test kit distribution.

Beginning Monday, March 14th, parents/guardians will be able to request COVID-19 at-home test kits through WITS.  This survey will close on Friday, March 18th at 12:00 p.m. (noon).  Currently, we have enough tests to provide two (2) test kits per student.

Tests will be sent home with child(ren) on Tuesday, March 22nd.

This testing is not required but being made available to students.  Please note, if your child(ren) receives a positive result from the COVID-19 at-home test, please report it to the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) at the following link: https://www3.erie.gov/covid/form/form-to-report-a-positive-covid-.

If your child(ren) tests positive for COVID-19, please keep them home, notify their building of attendance, and follow all of the appropriate return to school criteria prior to sending them back to school.

Sincerely,

Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
