05-06-22 COVID-19 At-Home Test Kit Distribution Update
April 29, 2022
Dear Williamsville Central School District Families,
As we near the end of the school year, the District will have two COVID-19 at-home test kit distributions for students. We are currently planning for each student to receive four (4) COVID-19 at-home test kits (8 total tests) for each distribution.
The first distribution of tests will go home with students on Friday, May 6th. The second distribution will take place in June prior to Regents Exams.
Beginning Monday, May 2nd, if parents/guardians do not want tests being sent home with their child(ren), they will need to opt-out on WITS.
If parents/guardians want tests sent home with their child(ren), they do not need to respond.
This testing is not required but being made available to students. Please note, if your child(ren) receives a positive result from the COVID-19 at-home test, please report it to the Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) at the following link: https://www3.erie.gov/covid/form/form-to-report-a-positive-covid-.
If your child(ren) tests positive for COVID-19, please keep them home, notify their building of attendance, and follow all of the appropriate return to school criteria prior to sending them back to school.
As a reminder, negative results on COVID-19 at-home tests are now acceptable for return to school protocol. Parents/guardians can e-mail their child’s building of attendance indicating their child received a negative result through the COVID-19 at-home test kit. If you have any questions, please contact your building nurse.
Sincerely,
Dr. Darren J. Brown-Hall
Superintendent of Schools
