Welcome to the weekly update!

I want to start by reminding our school community of two items on the calendar for next week!

First, the Board of Education meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 13^th at 7:00 p.m. at the District Office. It will also be LIVE streamed on the District’s YouTube channel.  During our meeting, I’ll update the community on our revised Mission and Belief Statements, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan, and how we are continuing to look for parental involvement within our schools and District.

The agenda and presentations for the meeting are available on BoardDocs and the District website.

Next, on Thursday, December 15^th, the District will be hosting the first Speaker Series on Restorative Educational Practices at Heim Middle School from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Linda Ruest, who is the Director of Professional Learning in the District, will share information on the basic principles, implementation, and the building of relationships that is associated with this work in our schools. This event is being held in partnership with the PTSA Council.

All members of our school community are invited to join and be part of this important discussion and ask questions.

As always, we encourage our families to stay up-to-date with the latest activities and events by continuing to check the WITS event calendar for your respective schools. Half days, field trips, along with other events and activities, are entered and updated on the event calendar throughout the year. If you have any questions about events, dates, or times, please be sure to reach out to your building directly.

Please also stay engaged with your schools by joining the PTA, PTSA, or SEPTSA.  This is another way to stay connected, build relationships, and learn more about your school.  If you’re unable to attend meetings, that’s okay!  Volunteering and lending a helping hand with these parent organizations is a great way to stay involved as well!  As we’ve heard throughout the year, the PTA, PTSA, and SEPTSA provide some of the best memories for students and families!

I know everyone is looking toward the upcoming Winter Recess.  There are two weeks left before the break.  Keep working hard and end the year strong!
