Welcome to the weekly update!

I hope you are enjoying a happy, healthy, and safe start to the New Year!  As a District, there is a lot to look forward to in 2023, especially as it relates to rebranding.

First, on Tuesday, January 10th, the comment period closes for the revised Mission and Belief Statements.  We are encouraged by the community response to the District’s revised statements and look forward to finalizing this process.  The proposed Mission and Belief Statements are available to be reviewed on the District website. If you would like to submit feedback, please e-mail contact@williamsvillek12.org.

January 10th is also the first Board of Education meeting of 2023.  As always, the agenda along with presentations are available on BoardDocs and the District website.  You can also watch the meeting on the District’s YouTube channel.

During the February Board of Education meeting, the Logo Subcommittee will be presenting new logos for the community to consider and vote on as the new District logo moving forward.  It has been incredible to see the teamwork, creativity, and thoughtfulness the Logo Subcommittee has shown since the end of September to maintain the history and tradition of the District but also usher in a new look as we continue to move forward.

I also want to update our school community on our Speaker Series.

The event on Restorative Educational Practices is rescheduled to take place on Thursday, January 19th.  We will also be scheduling a Speaker Series on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Kids Escaping Drugs, which will feature two programs.  One will be Face2Face Vaping Presentation and the other on the Darkside of Social Media.

We will share additional information once dates, times, and locations are finalized.

Finally, as we shared in December, we are looking for parents to join several committees and play and active role in the District. I am pleased to announce that we have had more than 100 responses!  Thank you for your continued parent voice!

A new year is a time for new goals and endeavors.  I am proud of the work our District has done and look forward to sharing more of the great things we are able to accomplish in 2023!

As we head into the weekend, our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Bills safety Damar Hamlin and his family.  We’ll see you next week.
