01-17-23 After-School Bus Pilot Program for the Middle and High Schools
January 17, 2023
Dear Williamsville Central School District Students, Families, and Staff,
As we shared earlier this school year, the District will begin a pilot program for after-school buses beginning the last week of January at our middle and high schools. A detailed informational sheet can be reviewed here: After-School Bus Pilot Program Informational Sheet.
After-school buses will only be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the first after-school bus scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st. Students are required to sign-up for after-school buses by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on days when after-school buses are available, so information can be shared with the District’s Transportation Department and routes can be mapped for the evening.
High school after-school buses will depart the school at 4:15 p.m. while middle school after-school buses will depart at 5:00 p.m. If a student misses the after-school bus, the bus will not return to pick them up and alternative transportation will need to be arranged by the parent/guardian.
The after-school bus pilot program will conclude on Tuesday, June 13th. A complete review will then take place to determine if after-school busing at the middle and high schools will take place for the 2023-2024 school year.
